Queens is a work set on a vibrant stage, full of energy and color, where the atmosphere of show and celebration merges with an intensity that captivates every viewer. The scene is bathed in bright, saturated colors, reflecting the explosiveness and diversity of the drag world. The poses of the queens are illuminated by conical spotlights that not only highlight their presence but also provide a dynamic, almost cinematic effect, inviting the viewer to immerse themselves in a universe where identity, creativity, and artistic expression intertwine in every movement.

Each character in the scene brings their own story and personality:

  • Trixie Mattel: her characteristic platinum blonde hair and light pink dress radiate sweetness that contrasts with the explosive energy of the environment. Known for her sharp humor and talent in country music, she shows that drag can also be a platform for multifaceted creativity.
  • Bianca del Rio: dressed in blue tones with a wide-brimmed hat, she presents herself as the queen of biting humor. Her ability to challenge social norms has made her an emblematic figure who defies stereotypes and celebrates authenticity.
  • RuPaul: with a confident and assured posture, wears a vivid red dress and a striking pink fur coat, reflecting his stage personality and role as a pioneer in drag culture. As the creator of the famous show “RuPaul’s Drag Race”, he has been a revolutionary figure bringing drag to the mainstream, promoting acceptance and diversity. His life story, marked by the struggle against discrimination and perseverance, inspires millions worldwide.
  • Sasha Velour: with her mesmerizing visual, speaks for herself. Known for her talent in performance art and drag innovation, her artistic work combines theater, visual art, and politics. In the foreground, the artist lies on the floor in a posture characteristic of ballroom dances, wearing high boots and a black outfit that generates emotional and physical contrast, reinforcing the intensity of the drag world and the passion that drives it.

This work symbolizes total dedication and the vulnerability that this art form requires, where personal expression becomes a declaration of resistance and freedom. As the artist herself comments: “What began as research on drag ended up going beyond the story itself.”
