“Silenced Truths” is a papier-mâché and oil sculpture that explores the inner duality of identity. The piece presents a divided face—one natural and the other heavily made up—reflecting the tension between private identity and the public appearance many trans individuals must navigate. A metal base supports a bust that partially reveals its inner structure, referencing the emotional and psychological layers hidden beneath the surface.
Vibrant colors, makeup and the headpiece construct a narrative of expression, resilience and self-affirmation. Each texture tells a story: what is hidden, what transforms and what fights to be seen. The sculpture invites viewers to reflect on authenticity, dysphoria, concealed identities and the journey toward visibility.
