I found ” El mal querer”; to be the most inspiring. It is based on the anonymous Occitan
novel;”El Roman de Flamenca”; from medieval times, a love story rooted in real events
that were forbidden by the Catholic Church during that era. The narrative depicts the metamorphosis of love, from the initial spark to the descent into hell, and ultimately, rebirth—a highly topical theme. This work effectively combines the album and the novel, sharing a common thread of denunciation and criticism, similar to Rosalía´s approach. The composition of the work consists of two parts, the first serving as a tableau showcasing various scenes referenced in the novel, from Malamente to Maldición. In the center, we witness Rosalía triumphantly empowered, shouting ¡Y
